Beginning Horsemanship Lessons
All lessons are up to 45 minutes long. We start all of our new riders on the ground learning to safely halter, lead, groom and tack your horse or pony. Once mounted we begin on the lunge line allowing students to focus on proper position, gaining a foundation and confidence. Once student can safely and proficiently tack up and un-tack horse on their own and ride confidently at the walk/trot/canter off the lunge line; with instructor approval they are ready for short/long stirrup groups.

Short/Long Stirrup
All lessons are up to 45 minutes long. Students are expected to arrive 20-30 mins prior to scheduled lesson time to groom and tack up their horse and stay 20-30 mins following scheduled lesson to “cool out” and untack their horse, clean/put away any tack used. When mounted students will continue to learn basic arena figures, different seats (full, light, half), and introduction to jumping by use of poles, calveletti’s and small jumps. At this level students are also introduced to riding in a group with other riders/horses.

Fundamentals of Riding and Jumping
All lessons are up to 45 minutes long. Same as above with focus on flatwork/exercises designed to strengthen jumping position and knowledge allowing student (and/or horse) to jump small lines, gymnastics and coursework up to 2’3.

Intermediate/Advanced Flatwork and/or Jumping
All lessons are up to 45 minutes long. At this point student is ready and encouraged to “lease” or buy their own horse so they can continue to learn more advanced flatwork, lateral movements and intermediate/advanced jumping.
